Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Not just that it's Weaver but that whoever it is really took a friggin' face-plant...

I love the stories about how Spielberg shot this film, planning out the entire route of the production in the most efficient yet expressive way possible. Whatever one thinks of the man as an artist (and my - positive - opinions are probably well known at this point) he's a consummate craftsman. And he was only 27 years old! Gulp...

Just a slight correction, Joel: Duel was released in 1971, which would have made Spielberg about 25 years old at the time. Same age as Welles when he made Kane. Whoa.

Yeah, I'm not sure where I got '74 from (and I'm usually so good with dates!). That was the year Sugarland Express came out I think.

Also, considering his birthday is in December, he would actually have been 24 when making Duel. Scary indeed...
